At Taikisha Vietnam Engineering Inc., we are committed to upholding and respecting human rights in all aspects of our business operations. We recognize our responsibility to ensure a safe, fair, and inclusive work environment where all individuals are treated with dignity and respect. In alignment with international human rights standards, we adhere to the following principles:

1. Respect for international standards of human rights

We will respect international standards, such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Labor Organization (ILO) Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, and Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights of United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), and conduct business activities giving consideration to human rights.

2. Prohibition of discrimination and harassment

Various kinds of discrimination and harassment at workplace are conducts that unjustly harm the dignity and infringe on the human rights of coworkers who share the same workplace. Any types of discrimination and harassment run counter to our corporate philosophy of “Establish an attractive company.” We will accordingly respect the human rights of our coworkers in the same workplace and eliminate all discrimination and harassment from our workplaces.

(Examples of prohibited conducts of discrimination and harassment)

a. Power harassment (harassment based on superiority in the workplace, including abuse of power against subordinates by supervisors)

We will not say or do things that will inflict mental or physical pain to others or harm the workplace environment by going beyond the boundaries of appropriate scope of duties based on superiority in the workplace, such as positions or human relationships in the workplace.

b. Sexual harassment

We will not say or do things of a sexual nature that will cause discomfort or pain to others.

c. Maternity harassment (discrimination in the workplace against women who are pregnant, on child-care leave, or have young children)

We will not harass persons due to pregnancy, birthing, and child rearing, etc., with the aim to create a comfortable workplace environment.

d. Other words and behavior that will cause discomfort to others

We will refrain from saying and doing things that would cause discomfort to others, such as jokes on handicaps including disabilities, physical features, or age.

e. Other types of harassment

We will not engage in any other harassment, such as alcohol-related harassment, moral harassment (verbal and emotional harassment), and gender-related harassment including discrimination or abuse of LGBT (*) persons.
(*) Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender.

3. Political and religious beliefs

a. We will respect each other’s thinking and creed on political regimes and religions, and build and maintain a transparent and sound relationship with others.

b. We will not conduct political activities and participate in election campaigns during working hours, except for activities approved by the Company. Provided, however, that this shall not apply in the case where a person participates in political activities in a private capacity on non-business day including paid holidays or out of business hours.

4. Prohibition of child labor and forced labor

a. We will not approve of harmful and exploitative child labor involving children below the minimum age of employment that will be harmful to physical, mental, moral, and other social development of children, and unjust labor such as forced hard labor, as it infringes on the basic human rights.

b. We will not purchase materials and products, etc. that were produced by child labor and forced labor.
